MIPCOM: Production and distribution group All3Media has created a  production company with Sally Angel, focused on producing premium and specialist factual and documentaries.

Sally Angel

Angelica Films will be headed by MD and creative director Angel, who was previously chief creative officer at Field Day Productions, which she launched in 2016 with Keo Films.

At Field Day, Angel produced the BBC documentary film Tea With The Dames and critically acclaimed Channel 4 observational documentary Inside The American Embassy, distributed by All3Media International.

Angel also produced the Bafta-winning shortform programme Missed Call, a coproduction with All3Media’s Little Dot Studios in collaboration with Royal Holloway University’s Media Arts Department.

Angelica Films, which will target projects at UK and international broadcasters and platforms, joins All3Media’s growing international network of 30 independent production, distribution and digital media companies.

Recent productions span scripted, factual, entertainment, children’s, sports and digital content and include Fleabag, Gogglebox, Call The Midwife, The Circle, Race Across the World and Three Identical Strangers.

The creation of Angelica Films follows recent deals including a multi-year partnership with Relevé Entertainment and the launch of an original content development fund partnership with Cinetic Media.

Jane Turton, CEO of All3Media, said: “Sally has a great slate of ideas and developments that are designed to meet the growing demand for high-end factual and specialist factual content from UK and international broadcasters and platforms.”

Angel revealed that the company already has two projects in paid development.
