A&E readies religious cult specials

US network A&E is preparing documentary specials that explore two of America’s most notorious and dangerous religious sects.

Warren Jeffs: Prophet of Evil will air on February 19 at 21.00 ET/PT and delves into the mind and psychological background of the polygamy cult leader. It is being produced by US-based Asylum Entertainment.

Jonestown: The Women Behind the Massacre is from fellow US prodco Every Hill Films and will premiere on February 26 at 21.00 ET/PT. The special examines the influence that four women had on the inner circle of Jim Jones, who was behind the infamous Jonestown Massacre in which more than 900 people committed suicide.

A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights to both shows.
