A+E launches true crime VoD service

A&E Crime Central will offer A+E shows including Dog the Bounty Hunter

A+E Networks has launched A&E Crime Central, a VoD service carrying A+E’s library of true crime titles.

The new service will feature a library of more than 900 shows at launch, drawing from A&E, History, Lifetime and LMN series and specials, including OJ: Guilty in Vegas, Menendez Brothers: The Sins of the Children, Dog the Bounty Hunter and The First 48: Missing Persons.

A&E Crime Central will be available via VoD platforms including Amazon Prime Video Channels, the Apple TV app, Cox Contour TV and Contour Stream Player, plus premium subscriptions on The Roku Channel, and will offer ad-free access to original A+E crime content.

Channel subscriptions will be US$4.99 a month, with customers able to chose a free seven-day trial through the Apple TV app, Amazon Prime Video Channels and The Roku Channel.

The new service adds to the growing number of SVoD products from A+E Networks, including History Vault and Lifetime Movie Club.

Mark Garner, executive VP of digital content licensing and business development at A+E Networks, said: “A&E is known for its front-row-seat crime and justice series, and we’re pleased to offer a subscription product featuring our crime and investigative library content under one roof. A&E Crime Central continues our strategy of monetising our troves of premium content while hyper-serving our truest fan bases.”
