A+E grabs BBCWW brands chief

US-based channels operator A+E Networks has nabbed the chief brands officer from BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) to be chief creative officer for its international business.

Amanda Hill takes the newly created role and will report to A+E Networks’ exec VP of international Sean Cohan.

She will oversee international marketing, communication and programming teams across the A+E Networks portfolio. Hill will be responsible for all content for the division, including development of original programming and coproductions as well as the strategic management of content both from the US and globally.

She joins from the commercial arm of the BBC, where she has worked as chief brands officer since December 2012, responsible for developing brand strategy for the business and formats, and maximising the value of international properties such as Dancing With The Stars, Top Gear and Doctor Who. She also worked on the global roll out of the BBC Earth, BBC Brit and BBC First channels.

Hill joined BBCWW in 2003 having previously worked across a portfolio of FMCG brands at L’Oreal and Added Value.
