A&E backs up Live PD with rescue series

Live PD involves 30 feeds of police activity in eight US cities

A&E in the US has unveiled its latest foray into live TV, partnering with the producer behind its Live PD show on a series about the emergency services.

Live Rescue is from MGM-backed Big Fish Entertainment and will follow first responders from across the country as they answer rescue calls.

The 8×120′ series premieres on Monday April 22 at 21.00ET/PT and will be hosted by veteran journalist Ashleigh Banfield.

Live Rescue’s commission follows the success of A&E’s Live PD, which has become a break-out hit for the US cablenet. It follows police departments from across the US in real time as they patrol their communities, with input from hosts Dan Abrams and Tom Morris Jr.
