Patrick Vien and Edward Sabin have joined as exec MDs, reporting to Sean Cohan, president of international and digital media at A+E.

Vien will have oversight of A+E’s businesses throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa and will lead programming strategy, acquisitions and production for channels outside the US.

He will also oversee international content sales, starting his role in January from New York.

Vien was most recently president of global content at Pulse Films, with which A+E agreed a distribution and studio deal earlier this year, and will continue to manage the A+E-Pulse partnership.

Prior to that he was chairman and CEO of Warner Music International, and before that president of NBCUniversal Global Networks.

Meanwhile, Edward Sabin has been promoted to co-head of international alongside Vien. Sabin joined A+E in 2015 as MD of Americas and head of commercial operations, managing relationships, partnerships, channels and digital media activities in Latin America and Canada.

He also leads the company’s global strategic and operational teams, heads up format programming and production, and will also now add oversight of Asia, Australia and New Zealand to his remit. He is based in LA.

Cohan said the duo’s appointment “will support A+E Networks’ rapidly expanding global footprint across all platforms for both long- and short-form entertainment.”
