ABC in Australia has acquired the rebooted version of Teletubbies alongside the latest series from the preschool franchise’s creator Anne Wood.

The broadcaster will air Twirlywoos as well as the new Teletubbies down under following a deal with Canadian producer and distributor DHX Media, which acquired rights to the latter brand in 2013.

The rebooted version of the preschool phenomenon sees Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po all return, with the Teletubby landscape enhanced via CGI.

Twirlywoos (50×11′), meanwhile, was devised and executive produced by Teletubbies creator Anne Wood and follows four small bird-like characters who are always looking to learn something new about the world.

It has already been picked up by numerous international broadcasters. Both series air in the UK on CBeebies.
