ABC preps Lee, Run DMC duo

ABC in the US is developing a comedy series about a woman unsure where her life is going and a multi-camera show from a founding member of hip-hop group Run DMC.

The former, an as-yet-untitled, single-camera series, is being written and exec produced by Christina Lee (Wet Hot American Summer) and produced by ABC Studios.

It follows a woman in her 30s whose future looks uncertain after the end of her long-term relationship.

It’s the latest project from Lee, who is also exec producing on Search Party for TBS.

ABC has also ordered a pilot for a family comedy from Run DMC’s Joseph Simmons, as first reported by Deadline.

The untitled show, from ABC Studios and Amblin TV, is being produced by Simmons and partner Justine Simmons.

It follows a rapper who prepares for a slower pace of life only to find his wife pursuing her own career.
