ABC holds Bachelor Party

US network ABC has given a pilot order to a series based on the raunchy Tom Hanks comedy movie Bachelor Party.

The project comes from Small Dog Picture Co and The Walcott Company in association with 20th Century Fox Television, and is loosely inspired by the 1984 motion picture.

The TV reboot will follow three couples, one about to get married, another recently divorced and a third falling in love.

J Philbin and Josh Malmuth co-created the series, with Philbin exec producing and Malmuth co-exec producing.

This is the second adaptation of a Hanks movie in the past month, after fellow network Fox bought a half-hour comedy based on his 1988 fantasy comedy Big.
