ABC Commercial downs 600 Bottles of Wine

600 Bottles of Wine is based on a blog by Grace Rouvray

MIPTV: Australia’s ABC Commercial has picked up the global distribution rights to shortform comedy series 600 Bottles of Wine.

The 8×9’ or 4×18’ comedy series originally aired on 10 Peach in Australia last year and recently made its UK debut on online-only network BBC3.

Produced by Sydney-based Cockatoo Co Lab, the series is based on writer Grace Rouvray’s blog The Island of the Dead. It follows the romantic misadventures of Claire, an apprehensive 20-something who, after breaking up with her boyfriend of five years, is suddenly flung back into the dating scene.

The series is also set to air on YLE’s SVoD service in Finland later this year, with further details and broadcast announcements to come.
