AB Moteurs revs up rebrand

French investment firm Mediawan has linked with broadcaster TF1 to rebrand AB Groupe’s motorsports network AB Moteurs.

The network will be rebranded as Automoto, taking the name of the long-running TF1 series for car and motorcycle enthusiasts, in September. AB Moteurs was founded in 1996 and airs motoring-themed series such as V6 and Plein Phares.

Mediawan, which acquired French distributor, broadcaster and producer AB Groupe last year, said competitions such as the NASCAR Cup Series and Supercross de Paris would remain on the channel.

Following the rebrand, the network will introduce magazine-style shows focusing on classic cars, motorcycles and other motoring subjects, Mediawan added.
