Aardman travels to Pop Paper City

Pop Paper City is aimed at four- to six-year-olds

The sales arm of UK animation firm Aardman has been appointed the distribution partner for a preschool series produced by Bournemouth-based LoveLove Films.

Pop Paper City is a craft adventure series aimed at children aged four to six and focuses on a group of unique friends who live in the capital of a stunning and endlessly peculiar paper world.

To encourage the children watching at home to create their own crafts, the character Grown Up plays an integral part in the show by taking the form of a real hand, reaching into the frame to interact with the 3D world to encourage “doing as well as viewing,” according to Aardman.

Georgina Hurcombe, MD and producer at LoveLove Films, said: “We share a similar ethos [to Aardman], with a passion of encouraging children to use their hands and get artistic, something that Pop Paper City advocates strongly.”

Broadcast partners are being sought for Pop Paper City, with scripts, storyboard, animatic and an animation test available.
