AAC adapts Crossed Over for CBS

Cameras are rolling on Alliance Atlantis's next telemovie for CBS, Crossed Over, starring Diane Keaton (First Wives' Club) Maury Chaykin (Joan of Arc) and Jennifer Jason Leigh (eXistenZ).

The two-hour TVM is based on Beverly Lowry's book Crossed Over: A Murder, A Memoir, adapted for the screen by John Wierick.

It tells the true story of woman's downward spiral into depression after the hit-and-run death of her teenage son. Played by Keaton, Lowry befriends a woman on death-row who helps her deal with the loss.

Directed by Bobby Roth (A Holiday Romance), the TVM shoots in Toronto until June 1, 2001.

Executive producers are Alliance Atlantis Entertainment's president Peter Sussman and Ed Gernon, alongside Paula Weinstein (The Perfect Storm). Keaton takes the role as co-executive producer, while Peter Bray (Joan of Arc) produces.

Alliance Atlantis holds all rights outside the US.
