Smith & Co hires USA exec for development

Tinopolis-owned US reality producer A Smith & Co has expanded its development team by hiring former USA Network executive Sara Cohen.

Cohen will serve as VP of development at the LA-based firm, having spent the past three years at Syfy/USA Network as director of alternative development and programming.

During this time, Cohen was responsible for developing series such as According to Chrisley, The Cromarties, Secret Life of Kids, Big Star Little Star, Cosplay Mele and The Internet Ruined My Life.

Kysha Mounia

Prior to Syfy/USA Network, Cohen served as a manager of series development at MTV Networks, where she worked on show such as 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom.

Meanwhile, the American Ninja Warrior producer has promoted production supervisor Kysha Mounia to director of development. Mounia will continue as supervising producer on music documentary series Unsung and continue to create new formats and series for the A Smith & Co documentary division.

Both Cohen and Mounia, who joined the company in 2007, will report to Rupert Dobson, senior VP of development at A Smith & Co.
