9 Story toon Futz the bill

Canuck animation producer and distributor 9 Story Entertainment has finalised a series of international sales deals for its shortform comic adventure show Futz!

The first 26×3′ series, a coproduction between 9 Story and Canada’s Teletoon, has sold to Australia’s ABC, Luk Internacional in Spain, HBO Asia, Finland’s YLE, Teleview in the Middle East and Cartoon Network Latin America.

9 Story launched the non-verbal cartoon at Mipcom in October.

Natalie Osborne, 9 Story’s executive VP of business development, said she hoped to continue to secure international acquisition deals for Futz!

“This exciting response reflects the strong appeal of this timeless anti-hero and we are looking forward to introducing him to audiences everywhere,” she said.
