44 Blue opens door to Shed’s Snook

Red Arrow’s 44 Blue Productions, the US firm behind A&E’s Wahlburgers, has hired a Shed Media executive to oversee development.

Dan Snook

Dan Snook has joined 44 Blue as senior VP of development having held the same role at Warner Bros-owned Shed since 2013.

Snook will work with 44 Blue’s development team on the creation and sale of ideas across cable, broadcast, syndication and digital platforms.

During his time at Shed, Snook developed and sold shows such as Lifetime’s Child Genius, Oxygen’s Criminal Confessions and NBC’s First Dates.

Prior to that, Snook served as senior VP of development at UK indie Firecracker Films, directing its US strategy, generating original IP and helping in the sale of Firecracker to Tinopolis in 2012.

He began his career at reality entertainment producer 3Ball and is credited with creating Spike’s long-running Bar Rescue format.

“Besides a wealth of multi-genre experience, Dan brings a fresh and distinctive eye from working on a wide range of ground-breaking content, from docuseries and formats to comedy entertainment,” said Stephanie Noonan Drachkovitch, co-founder and president of 44 Blue Productions.

The firm specialises in documentary series, factual entertainment, celeb-reality, lifestyle and action-adventure programming. German production group Red Arrow acquired a majority stake in the company in 2016.
