4 Blocks gets third run

4 Blocks will conclude with its third season

Turner-owned TNT Serie in Germany has ordered a third and final season of organised crime drama 4 Blocks.

The new season of the Berlin gangster saga will be made up of six episodes and will be produced by TNT Serie with Wiedemann & Berg Television.

Shooting is scheduled to start in spring 2019 ahead of a premiere next winter.

It comes after the second season of show was made available on Amazon Prime Video in more than 150 countries, including the US and the UK, on December 15. It will arrive in another 50 countries, including Germany and France, in late 2019.

4 Blocks was developed by Wiedemann & Berg Television, TNT Serie, and screenwriting trio Hanno Hackfort, Bob Konrad and Richard Kropf, as well as by Marvin Kren, who also directed season one.

The second season was directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel (Der Untergang) and Özgür Yıldırım (Chiko, Nur Gott Kann Mich rRichten). Kren acted as executive producer alongside Quirin Berg and Max Wiedemann, with Hannes Heyelmann and Anke Greifeneder fulfilling the same role for the broadcaster. Sven Miehe was co-executive producer.
