3 Ball pockets Halpern deal

US-based 3 Ball Entertainment has signed a coproduction pact with former Outpost Entertainment development exec Rebecca Halpern.

The arrangement will see Halpern develop and produce unscripted and scripted content with 3 Ball for TV, OTT and digital platforms. Several unspecified projects are already in development.

Halpern, founder of indie Rebecca Halpern Productions, previously partnered with Academy Award-winning director Robert Zemeckis on a forthcoming scripted/unscripted hybrid project she created.

Prior to that, she served as VP of development at ITV America’s Outpost and worked on shows including Animal Witness for Animal Planet.

Halpern has developed and produced shows in a variety of genres, including Animal Witness with Ridley Scott for Animal Planet, Snapped for Oxygen, First 48 for A&E and Gangland for History.

Todd Nelson and Ross Weintraub, 3 Ball co-CEOs, said Halpern had a “proven track record of developing and producing sharp, substantive content.”
