Zee adds to US networks

India’s Zee Entertainment is expanding its operations in the US by launching a new network in the country.

Zee, which has been increasing its global operations recently and launched two new channels in Africa last month, is making its Zee Cinemalu network available to Dish and Sling TV customers.

The launch means Zee will now operate 37 channels in the US, overseen by business head for Zee Americas Sameer Targe, becoming what it claims is the biggest multi-cultural broadcaster in the country.

Zee recently launched its celebrity chatshow format Starry Nights to the global market and in October appointed four execs to support its US operations.

The channel will air shows in the Telugu language, a genre known as Tollywood, including Indian hits such as Akhil, Brahmotsavam, Kumari21F, Supreme and A Aa.
