The Celts: Blood, Iron and Sacrifice

Australian pubcaster SBS and pay TV firm Foxtel are among the broadcasters to have acquired a specialist factual series about the battle between the ancient Romans and Celts from ZDF Enterprises.

The Germany-based sales house is shopping The Celts: Blood, Iron and Sacrifice, produced by ZDF and the BBC in association with Arte and ZDF Enterprises, globally outside the UK.

The three-parter has been picked up by RTVE in Spain, VRT in Belgium, Rai in Italy, Czech iPrime and Estonian Tallinn TV.

Viasat World has also picked up Scandinavian, Eastern European and African pay TV rights.

Available as either BBC-hosted or presenterless versions, the show examines the Celts and how they ruled Europe in the first millennium BC.
