ZDF, Tuvalu bite into One Bad Apple

Germany’s ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) has partnered with UK production outfit Tuvalu Entertainment to develop a returning supernatural drama.

Gavin Scott

One Bad Apple is being written by father-daughter team Gavin and Rebecca Scott. Gavin Scott’s credits include ABC series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1992-1993) and 1998 movie Small Soldiers.

The series sees the Devil’s daughter, Mercy, enrol in a respectable English boarding school and going on to take over not just the school but also the local town and surrounding countryside.

ZDFE, the commercial arm of German broadcaster ZDF, will coproduce the series with Tuvalu and executive producer Paul Johnson.

Johnson secribed the show as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Clueless meets Riverdale and The Omen wrapped around Indiana Jones. It introduces Mercy as the female equivalent of Darth Vader. Sci-fi shows just seem to find a large audience fast and we think One Bad Apple might do the same thing.”
