ZDF makes Maltese sales

Maltese sees a detective tackling corruption

MIPTV: French broadcaster France Télévisions and Finnish channel YLE have picked up an Italian drama Maltese here in Cannes.

The eight-part series is produced by Palomar, Rai and Maze Pictures and is set in Sicily in the 1970s.

Canal+ France has also acquired the final season of Scandinavian crime series The Bridge, produced by Filmlance International and Nimbus Film.

Both series are distributed by ZDF Enterprises, which has also announced a package deal with Hungarian firm TV2 Media Group for more than 1,000 hours of drama series and TV movies for channels TV2, SuperTV2, Prime, Mozi+ and FEM3. The agreement includes Dream Voyage, Our Charly and TV movies from Rosamunde Pilcher’s collection.

Czech commercial channel FTV Prima has also picked up 275 hours of series and TV movies from ZDF, including Siska, A Summer in… and Inga Lindstroem.
