MIPCOM: German pubcaster ZDF has picked up English-language drama The Missing from distributor All3Media.

Starring James Nesbitt and Frances O’Connor, the series follows a couple’s frantic attempts to find their young son after he disappears.

The deal, sealed in Cannes this week, also includes long-running detective drama Midsomer Murders, with season 17 and the most recent 18th season (both 4×120’) heading for Germany.

All3Media International, the sales arm of Discovery and Liberty Global-owned All3Media, has secured a number of other deals for its content throughout Europe this week.

Latvian telco Lattelecom has picked up 260 episodes of long-running youth soap Hollyoaks, marking its launch in the territory.

Midsomer Murders season 18, along with renewals of previous seasons of the drama, have also been licensed by Prima TV in the Czech Republic, Mauris Film for TV Centre in Russia, Lithuania’s LNK, Latvia’s LTV and HRT in Croatia.

Other recent buyers of All3Media content include Poland’s Ale Kino, which picked up Partners in Crime (6×60’), adapted from Agatha Christie’s books, and crime drama Safe House.
