ZDF appoints doc.station MD

Germany’s ZDF Enterprises has rejigged the management team at its production outfit doc.station, with MD Hartmut Klenke set to step down.

Carim Aadam, CEO at ZDF Digital Medienproduktion, will become MD at the production company at the end of the year, replacing the retiring Klenke.

Klenke has overseen numerous shows during his tenure, including recent hit Stalin’s Daughter, as well as talkshows, nature series and science docs.

Stephan Adrian, exec VP and chief financial officer at ZDF, said: “We thank Hartmut Klenke for his impressive achievements and we are pleased he is supporting us in the succession management.’

Aadam worked for Multipass Media and FormatSchmiede before becoming ZDF’s digital chief in 2014.

“During this period, he has undertaken numerous programme and production realignments, and has adjusted the company to digitisation on a lasting basis,” Adrian added. “We believe he is just the right person to continue to maintain and recharge the doc.station brand.”
