YouTube to show State of Pride

Video platform YouTube has greenlit an original feature documentary that explores the significance of Pride 50 years after the historic Stonewall riots.

State of Pride is directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, known for their work on the LGBTQ+ experience, and produced by digital studio Portal A.

Executive producers are Nate Houghteling, Kai Hasson and Zach Blume for Portal A, Jeffrey Friedman and Rob Epstein for Telling Pictures, and Raymond Braun.

The documentary offers a range of LGBTQ+ perspectives on the meaning and value of Pride through interviews led by Braun. He travels between major cities and rural towns across America experiencing Pride and learning why the event is so pivotal.

Epstein and Friedman have been celebrated for their LGBTQ+ media representation with projects like Common Threads: Stories from the Quilt and Celluloid Closet.

State of Pride will debut on YouTube in June 2019.
