Woodcut, History Bombs prep BBC shorts

The BBC has commissioned UK production firms Woodcut Media and History Bombs to coproduce a short-form series about the history of the National Health Service (NHS).

How Did Britain Build the NHS? will be made for the UK pubcaster’s iWonder digital, factual and educational portal, which was created to deliver learning potential for all BBC content.

The series, which is currently in production, is presented by historian and broadcaster James Holland and features a mix of History Bombs’ signature continuous shot videos and infographics.

The series examines all the key events in the creation of the NHS to understand the origins of what is now considered to be the cornerstone of post-war Britain’s public policy.

in August last year when UK-based Stitchcombe Productions merged with Talent Group’s Talent South prodco to form a new entity led by former ITV Meridian producer and Talent South MD Kate Beal.
