Cognition (8×60′) follows two serial killer investigations, one set in America’s declining Mid West and the other in the thronging streets of the Far East, and the tribulations of a former US detective.

The show was created by Alex Garcia Lopez (Utopia, Misfits), who is writing the scripts and will direct. Woo is exec producing alongside his long-term producing partner Terence Chang and Lori Tilkin, with production slated for 2016. No broadcasters are yet attached.

Catalyst was launched in May and recently formed a partnership with record label Warner Music to identify and develop feature biopics and docs about artists. The firm will develop and finance the projects and oversee worldwide distribution.

It’s also exec producing ITV’s Peter & Wendy, based on Peter Pan by JM Barrie, and is also behind a TV adaptation of Jonathan Trigell’s novel Genus.
