WMR taps Ronachan production chief

UK factual production company World Media Rights (WMR) has hired a head of production following its recent investment from Germany’s ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE).

Val Campbell and Suzanne Clarke

Val Campbell is taking the newly created role having previously held the same position at indie Ronachan Films for six years.

Her credits include Britain’s Adoption Scandal: Breaking the Silence for ITV and First Contact: Lost Tribe of the Amazon for Channel 4 and Netflix. She has also produced current affairs and factual programming for HBO, PBS, Al Jazeera, Discovery and ARD in Germany, among other broadcasters.

Campbell’s 20-year career also includes stints as head of production at EOS Films and head of production at Blink Films.

WMR has also brought in new finance director Suzanne Clarke, who was previously head of accounts at Frank Warren’s pay TV channel Boxnation before founding e-learning company World Academy in Australia.

The new hires follow the ZDFE investment this month and a board restructure that saw CEO Alan Griffiths being joined by creative director David McNab and ZDFE’s Tanja Meier-Sieden.

The company is also recruiting an executive producer in factual entertainment to further bolster the team.
