Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon is launching a multimedia production company with Otter Media, the joint venture from Peter Chernin’s The Chernin Group and AT&T.

Hello Sunshine aims to tell female-driven stories via short online videos, social media, television and film projects.

Tech industry executive Kerry Tucker has been named as Hello Sunshine’s CEO, joining from The Video Genome Project, which was acquired recently by Hulu.

The venture will be separate from Draper James, the clothing line Withersppon established last year.

The Chernin Group and AT&T also have a majority stake in Fullscreen and are behind web series including Summerbreak.
