WBITP secures BlazHoffski sales

Warner Bros International Television Production (WBITP) has secured its first commissions for BlazHoffski formats since taking over the Dutch indie last month.

Comedy series Tower C will get a 12-episode run on France’s Canal+ next year. The show first aired in the Netherlands on VPRO in 2008 and a fourth season is currently being written.

Brazil’s GNT, part of the Globo stable, has commissioned a second season of 13 episodes of hit reality series Hello Goodbye. The format has been sold into 15 countries to date, including Australia’s Nine Network, France 2 and Spain’s Antena 3. It began on Holland’s NCRV and now runs to 12 seasons.

Finally, science entertainment series Mind Over Matter has begun broadcasting on Austrian pubcaster ORF – its third international version following the Netherlands’ Net 5/VARA and Belgium’s VT4.

Andrew Zein, WBITP’s senior VP of creative, format development and sales, said there had been a lot of interest in BlazHoffski’s formats during Mipcom this month. “Now that we have our creative partnership firmly in place we are certain the commissions will keep coming for the high-quality productions of these formats in markets around the world,” he said.

WBITP acquired a majority stake in Benelux-based BlazHoffski last month. It was Warner Bros’ first major strategic move since it took over UK production house Shed Media last year.

Fifteen-year-old BlazHoffski was founded by Dan Blazer and Erik van der Hoff and has gained a reputation for non-scripted entertainment and reality formats for major broadcasters in its native territories. Former 2waytraffic boss Taco Ketelaar took over as CEO two years ago.
