Watchable adds Jukin shortform series

US media giant Comcast has ordered a 20-part shortform entertainment series featuring pets with human voices for its cross-platform video service Watchable.

The first five episodes of Awesome Pet Thoughts (20×4′) are available now as an exclusive series on Watchable, which is accessible online via the Watchable website and its iPhone and Android apps.

The series is produced by Jukin Media, the US viral-video firm behind the FailArmy YouTube channel.

It features voice artists talking over videos of pets and animals, sourced from Jukin’s library of user-generated content, on topics such as dealing with a hangover at work.

Josh Entman, co-founder and chief development officer at Jukin Media, described the format as a modern-day sitcom made using only pet content.

“The folks at Jukin have done the most amazing things with user-generated footage and once again they’re finding a way to innovate and push the format forward,” said Craig Parks, VP of programming for Watchable.
