Warner’s Register rises

Warner Bros Television Group’s Sam Register has been promoted to the newly created role of president of Warner Bros Animation (WBA) and Warner Digital Series.

Register, previously WBA’s exec VP of creative affairs, will oversee Warner Digital Series, a newly formed live-action digital content production unit, alongside his duties running the studio’s TV animation unit.

He will tap into the creative talent already at the studio for live-action digital series while also identifying opportunities for collaboration with new writers and producers, Warner said. He will report to Warner Bros Television Group president and chief content officer Peter Roth.

Current WBA series developed and supervised by Register include Teen Titans Go!, The Tom & Jerry Show and the upcoming Be Cool Scooby-Doo! and Wabbit, a Looney Tunes production for Cartoon Network.

Before joining Warner Bros in 2007, Register was a producer and senior animation exec at Cartoon Network for 10 years, overseeing programming launches and helping to grow CartoonNetwork.com.
