Warner Bros ups Canada exec

Warner Bros International Television Distribution (WBITD) has promoted one of its Canadian executives to oversee sales in the territory.

Mickie Steinmann has been upped to senior VP, MD of Canada. Based in Toronto, Steinmann will continue to oversee sales of Warner Bros television series, movies, animated content and TV movies for free and pay TV, basic cable and SVoD platforms in Canada.

He has been VP and general manager of Canadian operations since 2006 after joining WBITD in 2000 as VP of sales with oversight of Scandinavia, Benelux, Israel and the Middle East. The exec will continue to report to Jim Brehm, executive VP of WBITD.

Prior to his roles at WBITD, Steinman was VP of sales, handling Scandinavia, Benelux, Finland, Israel and pan-regional Middle Eastern satellite services for Columbia TriStar International Television.

Before that, he spent time as VP of international television sales for Gaumont in Paris, VP of international sales for Fox Lorber International and director of international dales for Alfred Haber.

Warner Bros recently promoted James Andrews to a sales director position in Canada. He reports to Steinmann.
