Warner Bros names Japan president

Warner Bros has rejigged its senior management team in Japan by appointing Masami Takahashi as president of the studio’s operations.

Takahashi will oversee all Warner Bros operations in Japan, including TV distribution, home entertainment and local production.

He will work with former chief Millard Ochs, who had been in the role for almost two years but is set to take up an advisory position at the Japanese arm of the US studio.

Takahashi, who starts on September 1, joined as VP of group marketing at the company last year and before that worked for Disney, as an exec director, and Electronic Arts.

Kevin Tsujihara, Warner Bros CEO, said Takahashi would “help us continue our history of growth and success” in Japan, which he described as “a vital territory” for the firm.

“He’s well connected, well respected and has a track record of creativity and innovation that will take our Japanese operations to the next level.”
