Warner Bros hires Spotify, Netflix alum

Warner Bros has appointed three senior staff, including a former Spotify and Netflix exec, to work across its Digital Networks division.

Eric Besner becomes senior VP of business development and has been tasked with identifying growth opportunities and maximising distribution revenue.

He previously worked at Spotify as head of global acquisitions for video and non-music audio, and before that was VP of original programming at Netflix.

Meanwhile, Greg Salter, who has been at Warner Bros for almost a decade, most recently working across corporate strategy, becomes senior VP of business and strategic planning.

His remit includes overseeing strategy and operating initiatives and working across mergers and acquisitions. Katie Soo, meanwhile, has been named senior VP of marketing.

All three execs will report to Jay Levine, exec VP of Warner Bros’ Digital Networks, who said the trio would assist in building up shortform production and its OTT services.
