Wapa TV takes drugs drama

NEWS BRIEF: A broadcaster in Puerto Rico has acquired a Latin American crime drama about infamous female drug lord Griselda Blanco, who built an empire worth US$1bn and employed more than 1,500 drug dealers.

Wapa TV will air The Dark Widow (80×60′), a coproduction between Televisa in Mexico and Colombia’s Caracol TV Internacional, which also distributes the series. Based on a book by José Guarnizo, the show was filmed in Colombia, Mexico and the US.
