VTM goes for more Local Heroes

Local Heroes: 911 Air Rescue

A Belgian broadcaster has commissioned a further two seasons of a factual format focusing on emergency services from Israel’s Armoza Formats.

Flemish-language channel VTM has ordered third and fourth runs of Local Heroes, which will follow the country’s helicopter emergency medical service.

The latest series will be titled Local Heroes: 911 Air Rescue, the licensing rights to which are held by Armoza.

Produced by Geronimo, Local Heroes: Through the Fire began airing last year on VTM.

The format was most recently commissioned by public broadcaster ARD and is now in production for a spring 2017 airdate on WDR.
