Virgin adds linear nets, VoD quiz service

UK pay TV operator Virgin TV has added linear kids’ and wildlife channels to its bundle, as well as an on-demand service offering quizshows.

Love Nature HD and ZooMoo HD, both of which are operated by Canadian outfit Blue Ant Media, will be available via Virgin’s Full House subscription package from July 21.

Love Nature is currently undergoing a revamp of its natural history output under former Nat Geo exec Carlyn Staudt. ZooMoo, meanwhile, targets preschoolers with nature-themed puppet shows, animation and live-action shows.

In addition, Virgin is adding the IQTV service to its VoD offering. IQTV was launched by former Zodiak Media UK CEO Rod Henwood in March, focusing on points-based, cerebral gameshows such as Mastermind, Countdown, The Weakest Link and Only Connect, with more than 100 episodes available at launch.

IQTV is available through Virgin TV’s VoD service and can be accessed by customers on Mix packages and above.
