VTV has licensed four seasons (45 episodes) of the series, to be known locally as Đối mặt trong bóng đêm (Facing the Darkness).

Production will start in 2015 and will be headed by VTV’s production company, the Vietnam Television Film Center. It will air in early 2016.

The series follows a by-the-book social worker in his mid-20s who discovers that he is the long-lost son of the criminal underworld’s most powerful man, The Arbitrator. The original series began airing on Israel’s HOT channel in 2007.

The deal follows Vietnamese producer Lasta Multimedia picking up Armoza’s new primetime entertainment show The People’s Choice.

“The Asian market is an incredibly important one and we are happy to be building the foundations for long-term partnerships,” said Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats.

This week, the Brazilian version of Turner Broadcasting System channel TNT commissioned a local adaptation of Israeli psychological drama Allenby, following a deal with Armoza.
