Vibrant catches Snake in DRG deal

Snake Boss centres on Julie Baker

Vibrant TV in the US has acquired new shows Snake Boss and Honey, I Bought the House as part of a slate of 50 hours of reality programming from international distributor DRG.

Produced by WildBear Entertainment and Flickchicks in Australia, Snake Boss (aka Snake Sheila) follows a thrill-seeking mother of two from Brisbane who gave up life as a pastry chef and professional puppeteer to catch snakes. The series has aired on Animal Planet in Australia and internationally.

Property series Honey, I Bought the House – from the UK’s Objective Productions and Crook Productions – follows couples given a £15,000 (around US$20,000) deposit to spend on their first property, with the catch that one of them has to secure the home within three weeks or risk losing the money.

Additionally, Vibrant TV has purchased more episodes of Renegade Films’ returning series, Don’t Tell the Bride. The Chicago-based firm has picked up the latest season of the show, in which a groom-to-be takes on the responsibility of organising a wedding without any involvement from his fiancée.

DRG has already shopped the latest season to countries around the world, including deals with BBC Worldwide in Africa and Poland plus Discovery Networks for its Italian, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Latin American and Caribbean channels.

Vibrant has also taken the latest run of Daisybeck Studios-produced The Yorkshire Vet, having previously bought episodes last year. The show centres on the work done by staff at Skeldale Veterinary Centre.
