Viasat World, Woodcut teach life hacks

How Hacks Work

European pay TV broadcaster Viasat World has linked up with UK producer Woodcut Media and independent distributor TCB Media Rights for its first coproduction.

How Hacks Work (30×30’) is a factual entertainment pop-science series that looks at the best, worst and weirdest ways to solve everyday issues using unusual items or ideas.

Executive producers on the show are Seniha Tunaboylu, head of content and acquisitions at Viasat World; Derren Lawford and Adam Jacobs of Woodcut Media; and Paul Heaney of TCB Media Rights.

The news comes as Anna McVey joins Woodcut as series producer from Ricochet, where she was senior producer on Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped.

Each episode of How Hacks Work will feature clips covering a specific theme including cooking, technology, cars, sport, health and DIY, culminating in a grand finale “epic hack.”

The series is currently in production and will air on Viasat Explore in 87 countries in 2018. TCB is the international distributor and will present the show to buyers at Mipcom next month.
