Crime caper Straight Forward (8×60’) was co-created by Screentime and Mastiff and coproduced by Viaplay and New TVNZ, in association with Acorn Media Enterprises and US SVoD service Acorn TV.

The drama is created and written by John Banas and produced by Philly de Lacey, Riccardo Pellizzeri and Bridget Bourke for Screentime NZ, and Line Funch and Mia Marie Borup for Mastiff.

Straight Forward centres on a Danish woman who tries to leave her criminal past behind by starting a new life in a small town in New Zealand.

Banijay Group’s head of scripted Takis Candilis called the story, set in both Queenstown and Copenhagen, “an enticing and unusual blend of New Zealand and Scandinavian narrative with wide appeal to viewers around the world.”

Viaplay retains all rights in Scandinavia and is set to premiere the drama in 2018 as a Viaplay Original. TVNZ has first-window rights in New Zealand and Acorn Media Enterprises has North America and UK rights, plus second-window rights for Australia and New Zealand. Banijay Rights is licensing the drama in all other territories.
