Viacom, OSN expand channels deal

Monsters vs. Aliens

Viacom and Middle Eastern pay TV operator OSN have expanded their partnership to bring new channels and exclusive content to the latter’s subscribers.

Teen Nick On Demand and Paramount Channel are set to launch on OSN on April 15 and come after NickToons debuted on OSN last month following a deal with Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN).

Paramount Channel features blockbuster movies, contemporary series and behind-the-scenes features, while NickToons features family-friendly animated content in English and in Arabic, including Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, Tuff Puppy and Monsters vs. Aliens.

The VoD version of TeenNick is a digital library of Nickelodeon series including iCarly, Sam & Cat and Victorious, subtitled in Arabic.

“In MENA, we are applying our glocal strategy, which combines international brands and properties with local productions,” said Raffaele Annecchino, president and MD at VIMN Southern and Western EMEA.

Other brands VIMN distributes in the Middle East exclusively on OSN include Nickelodeon HD, Nick Jr, Comedy Central, VH1, MTV Live HD.
