Viacom-owned US cablenet VH1 has greenlit a series in which veteran lifestyle guru Martha Stewart and rapper Snoop Dogg host dinner parties together.

Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party (working title) will premiere this fall and sees the unlikely duo invite celebrity friends over for an evening of cocktails, cooking and conversation.

The series marks the first time the pair have starred in a project together, although Snoop Dogg has previously appeared on Stewart’s talk show.

It was created and is executive produced by Stewart alongside Kim Miller Olko for Sequential Brands Group, Snoop Dogg and Ted Chung for Merry Jane and SallyAnn Salsano for 495 Productions.

Nina L Diaz, Trevor Rose, Paul Ricci, Fernando Mills and Paula Aranda will executive produce for VH1.

“My homegirl, Martha and I have a special bond that goes back. We’re gonna be cooking, drinking and having a good time with our exclusive friends,” said Snoop Dogg.

“At our dinner party, we will exemplify America’s fascination with food, entertaining and celebrity. Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party’ will redesign the traditional food competition shows in a new, different and very funny way,” added Stewart.
