VH1 loads up on Drag Race spin-off

The original RuPaul’s Drag Race airs on VH1 in the US

VH1 has greenlit a third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, the spin-off to reality competition series RuPaul’s Drag Race.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars sees winners from previous seasons of Drag Race compete for a place in the ‘Drag Race Hall of Fame.’

The Viacom-owned network has also ordered more of the behind-the-scenes after show RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked.

The series shows viewers a glimpse of the competing queens as they await to find out who will lip sync for their life.

The companion series will return for the 10th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, which is due to air next spring.

“The massive swell of new and longtime fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race is nothing short of incredible,” said Pamela Post, senior VP, original programming and development at VH1.

“We are motivated now more than ever to ensure Drag Race remains a shining example of inclusion and community, as well as fierce fashions and legendary lip syncs.”

Both series are produced by World of Wonder Productions with Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, Steven Corfe, Mandy Salangsang and RuPaul Charles serving as executive producers. Post and Tim Palazzola serve as executive producers for VH1.

The commissions come shortly after it emerged that Hulu is developing a drama series based on the life of reality TV host, drag queen star, actor and singer-songwriter RuPaul.
