Van Stade gets pubcaster role

Eric van Stade, former CEO of SBS Broadcasting in the Netherlands, is set to take charge of Dutch public broadcasting body AvroTros next year.

Van Stade is set to become general manager at AvroTros on January 1, subject to the approval of the company’s member’s council.

The date will also mark the official merging of the two Dutch public broadcasting bodies, Avro and Tros, to form AvroTros.

Van Stade left SBS after 12 years with the company in the wake of Sanoma and Talpa Media’s buy-out of the business in 2011.

He started his TV career in the Netherlands at John de Mol Productions in 1989, prior to the creation of Endemol, where he subsequently worked as an exec producer.
