Period drama first for USA

Cablenet USA Network has made its first foray into period drama by greenlighting a pilot set during the Second World War.

Horizon centres on a secretary at the FBI who discovers that her husband might have been killed in a battle with a spaceship in the South Pacific. Obsessed with learning the truth, she becomes the only person standing between Earth and an alien invasion.

The pilot comes from Universal Cable Productions and Valhalla Entertainment, with Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead) on exec producer duties.

USA Network co-presidents Jeff Wachtel and Chris McCumber said the pilot “signals the next step in the evolution of the USA Network’s programming brand.”
