USA, Netflix copro consigned to Damnation

NBCUniversal-owned USA Network has cancelled Damnation, its 1930s-set drama coproduced with Netflix, after just one season.

USA’s Damnation was a copro with Netflix

The show followed a man masquerading as a small-town Iowa preacher in the hopes of starting a full-blown insurrection against the status quo.

The pilot was written and created by Tony Tost (Longmire) and directed by David MacKenzie (Hell or High Water).

Netflix, which coproduced the show with Universal Cable Productions, took first-run rights to the series outside the US. The first season ended on USA last week.
