Universal uncovers Disappearance in UK

The Disappearance was created by Normand Daneau and Geneviève Simard

Universal Channel in the UK has picked up exclusive rights to a six-part Canadian mystery series from Bell Media-owned commercial network CTV.

The Disappearance will launch on the NBCUniversal (NBCU)-backed network on February 27 at 21.00 with a double bill.

The show, sold globally by NBCU International Studios, was created by Normand Daneau and Geneviève Simard and is produced by Casablanca Productions in association with Bell Media and NBCU.

The story follows the Sullivan family as they come together to solve a mystery that has shattered their lives, with long-held secrets uncovered in the process.

Executive producers are Joanne Forgues, Sophie Parizeau, Jean-Marc Casanova, JoAnn Alfano and Kristen Del Pero.

The Disappearance is the second Canadian show on Universal Channel’s schedule following its deal for Private Eyes.
