UKTV detects Pinkertons

UKTV’s Drama channel has secured the exclusive UK broadcast rights to US crime series The Pinkertons, following a deal with Zodiak Rights.

The Pinkertons draws from the real cases of Pinkerton’s National Detective Agency founder Allan Pinkerton, his son William and America’s first female detective, Kate Warne, as they solve crimes throughout the Wild West in the 1860s. It marks Drama’s first exclusive US acquisition.

The 22×60’ series is produced by Canadian prodcos Rosetta Media and Buffalo Gal Pictures, and was created by US-based Alpine Labs. The Pinkertons will air on Drama later this year.

The acquisition follows Drama’s first full year of broadcast, which saw the channel grow its share to 0.78% and break through the 1% share mark on 23 occasions, according to UKTV.
